OneFamily Fund Hike: Israel 2017 – Golan The 10th annual OneFamily Hike this year was spectacular. We ascended up into the Golan Heights, and my 6th year as the OneFamily photographer took me into ‘uncharted’ territory.  This was our largest hike, almost 90 participants.  It was also the return of ParaTrek, a company that takes disabled hikers to places they would never be able to hike.  The kibbutz this year was host to an amazing group of hikers; we laughed, cried, and came together as one after 5 days on the trail. Mazel Tov to everyone.   All photos from 2017 Golan Experience are HERE. All photos from 2016 are HERE.   HERE is a piece which gives a good synopsis of OneFamily.  If you would like more general information on the OneFamily, please go HERE, and a Jerusalem Post article on our 2016 hike is HERE. Sequoia’s Bar Mitzvah: Sept 3rd, 2015 This was a fun Bar Mitzvah, I have known Sequoia since birth, so it was heartwarming to see him ‘become a man’ so to speak.  The ceremony was interesting and different, and I would not have thought any other way for both Jeff and Marissa.  Always good to see old friends in a Simcha mood.  Looking forward to the next one. Bradley’s Bar Mitzvah: 7th December, 2015 I loved this Bar Mitzvah, the venue is amazing to photograph in.  The photos always show up clean and bright, and there is usually a nice hint of purple or blue.  I’ve known Stacy, Bradley’s mom since we met in Israel two years ago, so I was totally excited to shoot this event and reconnect with the family.  It was great to see some familiar faces.  The setting was intimate and warm, with the Havdalah candle lights casting a soft glow.  Bradley did a great job reading from the Torah… and then the party got under way.  Magan Boys know how to put on a sweet show, don’t they?  Amazing DJs, fantastic dancers, solid beats, and the best break dancer I’ve seen (who gave me my favourite photo of the night – check the photos).  All in all, a party to be remembered for a long time.  Thanks for including Ben and myself.  See you all soon. Dylan’s Bar Mitzvah: 7th November, 2015 I photographed Dylan’s Barmitzvah just two days after photographing the 2015 One Family Fund Hike in Israel.  As jet-lagged as I was, it was one event I did not want to miss.  We met at the Richmond Hill Country Club in the morning, and planned for a great day.  Weather was beautiful, maybe a bit chilly, but otherwise spectacular.  I love this venue, it’s amazingly bright and photographs with such striking colour.  I have known this family for over a year; I first photographed the extended family at a portrait session at Ronnie and Bunnie’s house last year, so it was great to meet everyone again at this simcha.  Dylan was wonderful; confident and polite.  He was a pleasure to photograph and was always willing and able to give me time.  Todd and Dawn, you both brought up two special kids; good job.  Looking forward to seeing you all again soon.  Mazel Tov. The photo above was one of my favourites of the year- “Dylan dressing the Torah”. Synagogue & Reception: Richmond Hill Country Club Selected photos are below All photos are here All photos are here

Victoria & Troy’s Wedding: 10th October, 2015 I have known Victoria and Troy for a few year, and really like this couple.  This wedding was something special.  Two people in love, enjoying an amazing day with their friends and family.  I photographed these two when they got engaged, we were down at the beach near Lake Ontario.  I knew then that this wedding would be a fun one; tons of energy and style.  The engagement pictures were pretty cool, and made the wedding so much easier to photograph.  The day started out with me taking photos of Vickie, and then Troy.  They did not see each other until the ceremony which made for some excitement.  Troy looked dashingly handsome, while Vickie looked radiant.  Laughter ensued, and nuptials were over.  We then headed out for some photos, and more fun.  The party was hardcore as the night progressed.  Lots of loving words shared, and pretty neat drums and games took centre stage.  All in all, a loving night shared by good friends and family.  Thanks for including us. Katy & David’s Wedding: 20th September, 2015 I don’t know where to start with this wedding, it was by far the wildest I have seen in a while.  From the horah (the most intense I have ever experienced) to the dancing, food, warm and loving words spoken between family and friends.  It was such a special day.  We started out at the salon with hair and make-up (such an amazing atmosphere), giggling girls and moms.  I headed off to David’s place where we were far more relaxed in our getting ready.  We finally headed down to Cedarvale Park Bridge for a special reveal and photo-shoot.  What a great couple.  Portraits photographed across from the York Mills Gallery proved to be spectacular.  The laughter and joking continued inside to the badeken, ceremony, and finally the party.  This was no small affair; delicious food, heartfelt speeches, and two of the warmest families being brought together under the chuppah. All in all, it was a perfect day for a perfect wedding. Aliza’s Bat Mitzvah: 11th & 12th October, 2015 I photographed Aliza’s Bat Mitzvah and Family over the 11th & 12th of October, 2015.  It was a super fun weekend at the family home, synagogue, and the eZone in Etobicoke. Aliza is a fantastic kid, great personality and smile.  She was a pleasure to work with, and gave off great energy.  The eZone is a pretty cool place to hang out if you are a teenager (or an adult); laser tag, basket ball, cosmic arcade, virtual golf, games, whiryball… just a fun place to be.  Food at the house was yummy; crepes, all the sweet toppings, and the “can’t-go-wrong” Jewish bagels and lox, all were delicious.  Overall, a perfect weekend with a delightful family.  Mazal Tov guys. Enjoy the photos, they tell a beautiful story. All Photos Here Selected photos Scroll Below   All Photos Here Jonni
