Jack’s Bar Mitzvah: Dec 17, 2017 Well all good things must finally come to an end, and Jack’s bar mitzvah was one of those good things that closed out my 2017. What a great way to end the year. We had a fantastic three generational rehearsal a few days earlier and then all friends and family gathered for the bar mitzvah ceremony and brunch on the 17th. Jack is just an awesome kid who has now become a man. The synagogue, Beth David Synagogue is such a super-cool space to photograph. It is bright and large an offers ample opportunity for creativity.  Fern Cohen, party planner extraordinaire, tied the luncheon together beautifully. The speeches were funny, the atmosphere was warm, the music was ‘live’, and it was, in a word… amazing. Thanks for such a nice year-end, you guys were great.   The Story of Jack’s Bar Mitzvah: Selected Photos HERE All Photos HERE   •Cake: Randi Kates, Kosher City Plus •Clothing (Mitzvah): Crawford Boys Clothing •Decor: Trevor Florence, Florence Event Design •DJ Entertainment: Music by Kenny Munshaw & Mark Willms     •Invitations: Cathy Vogel @ VOGUEink •Jewels: Classic Creations •Makeup: Karen Breslin •Event Planner: Fern Cohen •Photographer: Jonni Super   •Specialty Food: Jimmy Kadoch, Kosher City Plus    •Venue: Beth David Synagogue •Caterer: […]

Lisy & Ariel’s Wedding: November 5, 2017 Well this wedding was one wild and crazy affair, the perfect way to end the wedding season. Ben and I started photographing Lisy and Ariel getting dressed in their respective homes, and then we met up for an intimate ‘reveal‘ at Lisy’s parent’s home.  It was then off to… wait for it… the Ontario Science Centre for some… unusual wedding photos. We met for family portraits at the Parkview Manor and moved on to the ceremony.  Some post-ceremony schmoozing, and then they were off… to party like it’s the end of 2017.  Horah Gone Wild, heartfelt speeches, intimate father / daughter / mother / son dances, and topped off by a Flash Mob dance.  These guys know their moves, and those moves were out there for everyone to see.  Yeah baby!!  Guys, thanks for including the team in such a wonderful night.  Mazel Tov.   The Story of Lisy & Ariel’s Wedding: Selected Photos HERE All the Photos HERE (and there are many) and if you missed it… The Engagement Session HERE   •Pre-wedding Photo Venue: Ontario Science Centre •Ceremony Venue: Parkview Manor •Reception Venue: Parkview Manor •Her Rings:

Samantha’s Bat Mitzvah: Dec 16, 2017 Samantha’s bat mitzvah in late December was fantastic. Held at the Richmond Hill Country Club, one of my favourite places to photograph, it was a special day for everyone. Sam is such a warm and friendly young woman, it was a pleasure to photograph her. This family is pretty chilled and likes to have fun; the perfect way to close the year. This was an especially touching event, Samantha was donating her beautiful long hair to children with cancer.  We had an emotional hair cutting ‘ceremony’ before the party was over. Amazing. Cate & David’s B’nai Mitzvah: Dec 9, 2017 Cate and David’s b’nai mitzvah party in early December was one of the most fun parties of the year, one that I will reference as an example of a fantastic nights celebration. It all started a few days earlier with a rehearsal at Beth Radom, and followed with festivities at The Avenue on Saturday night.  This was really the perfect way to begin to close my year, one giant Magen Boys affair with two wonderful families; all the fun you can want in one special night.  Both Cate and David were amazing; loved the camera, loved the attention, loved the stage, and appeared to love celebrating together as cousins.  Thanks for having me join you guys.   The Story of Cate & David’s Mitzvah HERE All Photos are HERE   •Decor: TWSS Balloons •DJ: Magen Boys •Invitations: Vista Print •Makeup: Rebecca Kupferstein •Hair: Expose Salon •Event Planner: Sarah Cherry •Photographer: Jonni Super •Videographer: Arthur Levitin •Venue: The Avenue •Caterer: Mitzouyan – Luncheon •Rabbi: Geoffrey Haber •Other Stuff: Beth Radom Congregation Synagogue

Jonni Super Photography: 2017 – The Year In Review What a year it has been!! This was a fantastic year, 2017. I returned from Israel in November of 2016, and relaxed through the new year before diving straight into the 2017 wedding and mitzvah season. I ended up filling the year with projects and client sessions and parties and people and families, and of course, weddings and mitzvahs. This year, I had the honour of photographing over 60 events.  Thank you to all of the wonderful clients who made my job so much fun! In addition to the new clients that I’ve had the honour to photograph this year, it is been such a treat to see past families return with younger siblings who are at mitzvah age. It never ceases to amaze me how quickly the kids grow up and change, and seeing them a year or two later is wonderful. I promise to never take for granted the privilege of documenting the special times in these families lives. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to photograph you all as you grow, marry, and come of age. So now on to some of the photos, shall we? […]

Jake’s Bar Mitzvah: Dec 2, 2017 Jake’s family travelled early and far for this celebration, but in the end it was all worth it.  The days came together beautifully; the ceremony at the Chabad Flamingo Synagogue on Thursday morning and the wild and crazy party at the Pickle Barrel on Saturday night. Jake was in fine form on both occasions, read from the Torah beautifully and “became not just a man, but THE man”. That too was quite evident on Saturday when you held court in front of a wonderful group of his family and friends.  Bounce Entertainment rocked the house and brought everyone to a celebratory high. Thanks for having me photograph you guys, enjoy.   The Story of Jake’s Bar Mitzvah HERE All Photos HERE   •Cake: Cakes By Robert •Clothing (Mitzvah): Moore’s & Tip Top •Florist: DT Floral •DJ: Bounce Entertainment •Photographer: Jonni Super •Venue:  Pickle Barrel Banquet Hall
