Ryan’s Bar Mitzvah: January 22, 2026
My second time around with this wonderful family, and as expected it was a joyful day. Ryan’s bar mitzvah at Adath Israel was full of heart from start to finish. Toronto had been buried in snow for days, which limited our outdoor photo adventure, but it didn’t stop us entirely. Ryan and I snuck out for a short walk to catch some sunshine photography, family joined in, and then the weather politely sent us back inside just in time for the ceremony. This synagogue truly lends itself to photography, and it delivered once again. Ryan was fantastic. He read from the Torah beautifully and made everyone proud. Candy flew, hugs followed, and suddenly it was time for breakfast. The food deserves its own paragraph in the history books. Ryan and his friends quickly took over the games and went full throttle. Speeches followed, warm and thoughtful from friends and parents, then Ryan did too. Two mitzvahs down, one to go. Mazel Tov guys. What a fantastic day.
