Jonah’s Bar Mitzvah: April 24, 2021
Jonah’s bar mitzvah took place at one of my favourite locations, Congregation Habonim. I love the space, it is both traditional and modern at the same time. The foyer is bright, there’s a fantastic courtyard outback, and the sanctuary is easy ingot a ever. Maybe it’s more modern than traditional now that I think about it. Jonah was fantastic, we did a little walk around the shul before heading inside, just to get some outside photos and because it was a stellar day. (Remember, it snowed a blizzard just 3 days ago). We headed into the courtyard with the grandparents and a few friends, all the while making Jonah the centre of attention. The ceremony went beautifully, with Jonah at the top of his game. We laughed, we cried, we candied, we ‘speeched’, we even did a little impromptu dance, all in all, it was a beautiful day. Mazel tov, guys.
