Bennett’s Bar Mitzvah: June 14, 2025
What a fabulous bar mitzvah at Congregation Habonim with Bennett. My second time around with this awesome family and while everyone’s a little more grown up, they’re still just as fun. Last time was a tri-mitzvah, so Bennett and I had a lot more time to wander than I did with his brother. We strolled the Habonim neighbourhood, found a few quirky spots to shoot, and then got down to business. His older brother, now a seasoned pro, stepped in for photos like it was like second nature. We hit a comfortable groove with the parents too and after a few extended family shots in the back alcove, we were ready for the ceremony. Rabbi Audrey officiated with her signature mix of warmth and charisma. The singing was gorgeous, harmonies floated through the room, and the piano filled in for the usual guitar. It worked. Bennett absolutely crushed it. He read and spoke beautifully, full of heart and confidence. Then it was off to a delicious lunch in the main hall. Mazel tov, guys. What a day, so much fun.
