Rachel’s Bat Mitzvah Rehearsal: November 20, 2025
It has been many months since I have made my way to Beth Tzedec for any mitzvah of any kind, so it felt fantastic to be back again near the end of the mitzvah season. I met Rachel and the family and right away there was an immediate foreshadowing that this was going to be a fantastically goofy rehearsal photo shoot. Rachel delivered in every possible way. She is such a lovely quirky charismatic kid and we had the best time wandering around outside while snapping away. The pictures do not lie, just a lot of laughs and plenty of silliness. I then took her sister outside and the playful laughter kept rolling. The parents were next and one could immediately see that the apples do not fall far from the tree. By the time we wrapped up it was getting dark so we headed inside where the extended family were waiting patiently for their moment in the limelight. Finally Rachel and I slipped into the small sanctuary for some photos with the Torah and also just to catch a breath away from the crowd. Mazal Tov guys, what a fantastic evening.
