Max’s Bar Mitzvah: June 25, 2016

Rehearsal: 23 June / Friday night dinner: 24 June / Ceremony: 25 June / Party: 26 June

So finally the day arrived for my nephew’s Bar Mitzvah.  My family decided I was not to be the photographer for this celebration as I was going to be in some of the pictures, however I was able to shoot the rehearsal.  As for the portraits and party, Ben and Gwen stepped up to the plate.  Max was amazing.  I have watched my nephew grow from a baby to a Bar Mitzvah.  It’s not often one hears the ‘Voice of God’ during the bar mitzvah portion… but as anyone who was there can attest, we did.  All speeches were eloquent and funny, Steve rose to the occasion nicely, and the weekend got off to a running start. Oh, another thing… it’s not often you see the bar mitzvah boy deflect projectile candy with a Captain America shield.  There were many ‘firsts’ at this celebration.

Zach’s Bar Mitzvah: May 7, 2016

This was a fantastic rehearsal and party, these two boys were in fine form for both.  Both pretty cool kids, I enjoyed photographing the family.  The Factory is always a cool place for a party, the right amount of ‘street’ and ‘hip’, perfect for a rockin’ night.  The ice cream truck was the proverbial ‘icing on the cake’.  Thanks for including Ben and me, we look forward to the next one.

Sequoia’s Bar Mitzvah: Sept 3rd, 2015

This was a fun Bar Mitzvah, I have known Sequoia since birth, so it was heartwarming to see him ‘become a man’ so to speak.  The ceremony was interesting and different, and I would not have thought any other way for both Jeff and Marissa.  Always good to see old friends in a Simcha mood.  Looking forward to the next one.

Sophie’s Bat Mitzvah: Jan 30, 2016

All I can say is “Sophie is one very special young woman.” She brought a delightful energy and warmth to the function, and I feel so grateful to be a part of this simcha.  Everyone in attendance would have to agree, that was one of the most memorable bat mitzvah speeches I have ever heard.  Sophie was a joy to photograph.  Barb and Heidi Gruenspan were super organized which made my job easy, and we got some fantastic shots. Thanks guys, I can’t wait for the next one.
