Isaac’s Bar Mitzvah Rehearsal: April 6, 2025<\/span><\/p>\n

It was such a pleasure to be back at the BAYT<\/strong><\/span><\/a> \u2014 it\u2019s been quite a while since I photographed there. I think the last time may have been pre-Covid, which feels like a whole other lifetime.\u00a0 <\/span>I met Isaac and his lovely family on a bright and breezy Toronto spring Sunday, you know, the kind of spring where the sun says \u201cyes\u201d but the wind still says \u201cnot so fast.\u201d What was meant to be a quick little photo shoot and rehearsal turned into something much bigger (in the best way).\u00a0 <\/span>Isaac was in fine form, we wandered around the synagogue, chatting and snapping photos as we went. Just easy and fun. Then his brothers joined in, slightly surprised by the whole “spring” temperature situation, but they powered through with style and good humour. The parents? Totally composed and on point, like seasoned photo pros.\u00a0 <\/span>Eventually we headed back inside, where we were greeted by what felt like a small village, a big, beautiful extended family full of kids, parents, and lots of energy. Honestly, a photographer\u2019s dream.\u00a0 <\/span>The BAYT is a joy to shoot in when it\u2019s quiet, it turns into this calm, naturally lit studio space. So the tricky part was already handled. Add in a bunch of lovely people having fun, and it all came together effortlessly.\u00a0 <\/span>We finished up with a few shots in the sanctuary on the bimah, the perfect way to wrap things up.\u00a0 <\/span>Isaac, you were awesome.
