Jacob & Matt’s B’nei Mitzvah: May 17, 2026<\/span><\/p>\n

Matthew and Jacob’s b’nai mitzvah was a delightful two part affair. The morning took place at Beth David<\/strong><\/span><\/a> in the large sanctuary and the evening celebration was held at The eZone<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/a>, but let us begin at the beginning.\u00a0\u00a0I met the boys and their family at Beth David for some one on one photography before the ceremony. The boys were in fine spirits, doing their thing and enjoying every minute. These lovely lads were sport long flowing hair, something I do not see very often in today’s mitzvah boy crowd, so props to them, quirky and gregarious is a wonderful combination.\u00a0\u00a0We wandered around outside snapping away before the rest of the immediate family joined us… and that was far from the end of it. Before long I was photographing groups of thirty people outside the synagogue, a very large contingent by portrait standards.\u00a0\u00a0Once the photos were wrapped up, we headed inside for the ceremony. The boys did marvellously, making everyone proud and leaving many in attendance with very large smiles. After the obligatory candy tossing, we made our way to lunch where guests enjoyed a delicious meal accompanied by some delightful jazz piano musings.\u00a0\u00a0The morning was complete, and now we waited for the evening festivities.\u00a0\u00a0The eZone is an event centre in Etobicoke that I have been photographing at for years. As it turns out, this may have been my final swansong. The venue is closing in June, so my last eZone celebration belonged to Matthew and Jacob. Somehow that feels fitting.\u00a0\u00a0We arrived early for the classic tour and photo session. Once that was done, the kids arrived and it was absolutely no holds barred. We WhirlyBalled, laser tagged, shot hoops, slapped pucks, drove golf balls, played pool, and pretty much tackled everything The Ezone had to offer.\u00a0\u00a0After a delicious dinner and a few short speeches, it was right back to the action. The kids were everywhere, the energy never slowed down, and a fantastic time was had by all.\u00a0\u00a0Matthew and Jacob, thank you for letting me be part of your special day.\u00a0\u00a0Mazal Tov guys. Way to go.<\/p>\n
