Tracey & Bruce’s Wedding, March 18, 2018<\/span><\/p>\n

These two\u00a0love birds seem to be the ideal match made in heaven. What started off as a pretty normal wedding day for myself and Ben, photographing the bride and groom independently, ended up as a spectacular wedding amongst my fellow South Africans who were as inviting and\u00a0inclusive as ever.\u00a0 This was a group of people who were so warm, authentic, caring, and passionate as\u00a0I ever could have imagined.\u00a0 This wedding was definitely one of a kind for many reasons, some of which I will list here, and others, you would’ve had to have been there. We started off the day at the Westin Prince Hotel<\/a><\/strong><\/span> in Toronto, Bruce getting dressed in his room with the boys and Tracey dressing down the hall with the girls. As per usual,\u00a0the girls drinking champagne\u00a0whilst doing hair and\u00a0make-up while the boys might as well have been smoking cigars and drinking whiskey, or in this case, eating biltong. We all headed down to a ‘reveal<\/em>‘ in the foyer which was basically a crying love-fest but well worth it. From there, we were off to the York Mills Gallery II<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/a> for group photos and an “don’t worry, all in good time” signing of the Ketubah<\/strong><\/span><\/a>. The one thing I love about Jewish weddings is the traditional\u00a0Horah<\/strong><\/span><\/a>.\u00a0 Of course every religion has their wedding customs but this one has to be, by far, the most fun. Forget about breaking plates and tea ceremonies, we’re talking about\u00a0sitting\u00a0the bride and groom\u00a0on two chairs and elevating (read: throwing) those chairs up into the rafters, bride and groom holding on for dear life. Perhaps it’s the feeling of weightlessness\u00a0on the descent\u00a0which enhances the butterflies in the stomach, I don’t really know, but it just looks like a lot of fun.\u00a0 After the horah is all said and done,\u00a0we’re sitting down for heartfelt speeches and delicious food. This whole event was tied together beautifully by Libby Eydelman<\/strong><\/span>, music provided for by the DJ kings and fantastic drummer Michael Lupescu<\/strong><\/span>. The best part of the night had to be the father daughter dance which due to some unforeseen circumstance, took place about 10 minutes before everyone left but made for a very special and long lasting dance. Not a dry eye in the house by this point, by the way. Guys, this one was special,\u00a0you two were made for each other. Mazel tov.<\/p>\n
