Eddie’s Bar Mitzvah: May 30, 2026
Eddie’s Bar Mitzvah began at Congregation Habonim on a Saturday morning, one of my favourite places in the city to photograph. We wandered around outside for a while, making the most of the beautiful morning light before Adam and the rest of the family joined us for portraits. It was all fun, games, and good energy. Once we’d wrapped up our outdoor adventures, we invited the extended family into the back alcove for family photos. Meanwhile, Rabbi Audrey was busy preparing for the ceremony and getting everything ready. After a short rehearsal for Eddie, we were underway. A delightful ceremony followed. Rabbi Audrey is charismatic, warm, and wonderfully engaging, guiding the congregation with grace and humour. After the traditional candy throwing and prayers over the challah, we made our way to a delicious brunch in the adjacent dining room. There were plenty of fun photos with Eddie, his friends, siblings, parents, and extended family. Add in some heartfelt speeches, lots of laughter, and before we knew it, the day had come to a close. Way to go, everyone. A lovely Bar Mitzvah and a fantastic day all around.
