Ezra’s Bar Mitzvah: May 28, 2023 My third time around with this wonderful family, it was not to be missed.  I’ve known Ezra since the first mitzvah, when he was running around causing a wee bit o’ trouble… but not today, today he was the ‘man‘.  We met up a few days before for some family photos, just to get those out of the way before the big day.  Ezra was looking sharp as we walked around the hood.  The whole fam was up for this little photoshoot, even the dog. We wrapped that day, and waited until Saturday to continue our shoot.  Saturday came, and everyone was there.  Rabbi Yossi Sapirman held down torah duties as only he can, with grace and elegance.  Ezra was great, spoke well and made everyone proud. This was a day for schmoozing, and schmooze we did… before the hora, and the dancing, and the family photos in the backyard, we did a whole lot a schmoozing.  Just a great time had by all.  Mazel tov, guys.   The Story of Ezra’s Bar Mitzvah: Selected Photos HERE All the Photos: HERE

Darwin’s Bar Mitzvah: May 21, 2023 I loved hanging with these guys, an original family if I ever photographed one, totally up my alley.  I met these guys at the recently renovated Narayever Shul on Brunswick for a rehearsal a few days before the big day.  Darwin was fantastic.  We laughed, we cried, and then we went for a little walk contemplating the day.  Fast-forward to Sunday, and I was there bright and early ready to go. We photographed the extended family outside before heading in to the sanctuary.  Darwin was great, read beautifully from the torah, and made everyone so proud.  Service over, it was time to party.  A little post-ceremony schmoozing before heading to the Faculty Club the at U of Toronto where we were welcomed by a great band, fun games, delicious food, warm speeches, and everyone ready to go.  Mazel tov, Darwin, way to go.   The Story of Darwin’s Bar Mitzvah: Selected Photos HERE All the Photos: HERE

Following a delightful service, we settled into a wild hora, speeches, lunch, and general party fun and games.  Way to go Avery, mazel tov.   The Story of Avery Bar Mitzvah: Selected Photos HERE All the Photos: HERE

Talia’s Bat Mitzvah: May 28, 2023 Photos by: Indie & Jonni Super Talia’s bat mitzvah was a lovely two day affair, first the rehearsal at Beth Tzedec on a beautiful early summer evening, followed by a wild dance party.  Somewhere in between, we also did take a little walk through Alexander Muir Park, just for, y’know, some amazing family photos in a park.  Back to the rehearsal… Talia was spectacular. We strolled around Beth Tzedec before gathering up the rest of the fam for photos with the torah. We took out the torah for some pictures, and called it a wrap.  Alex Muir was similar, in that Talia was again spectacular.  The extended family joined us for that photo-shoot, before we headed over to Habonim for some night fun.  Justin Barkie was holding fort with this party, and did a stellar job.  Such great energy, he really knows how to bring a party together… but this party was really tied together by Fern Cohen, party planner extraordinaire, who did an amazing job.  We laughed and cried, danced and dined, and just had ourselves a blast.  Mazel tov guys, way to go.   The Story of Talia’s Bat Mitzvah: Selected Photos HERE […]

Zach’s Bar Mitzvah: April 22, 2023 Zach’s bar mitzvah was a three event affair.  What started out as a rehearsal eventually ended at a wild lunch party.  In-between, we met at a grandparents condo for some family photos.  Zach was in good spirits throughout the whole ordeal. Let’s start at the beginning; I met everyone at Temple Sinai for a rehearsal.  This time of year, the garden is just starting to bloom, and we were good to go. The sibs were all in too. We photographed some traditional torah photos before calling it quits, looking forward to the next adventure.  That was to be extended family photos in a condo, just gathering the whole gang together before dinner was the order of the day. Jonah’s Mitzvah Rehearsal & Family Photoshoot: Oct 23, 2022 / Jan 12, 2023 This was a two part event separated by a New Years Eve party; the first part taking place in a park, and the second, at the synagogue. I don’t think we could have asked for a more spectacular weekend for this photo session, Jonah’s parents were smart when choosing this date many months ago, they must’ve been clairvoyant because this could’ve been a mess. But on the contrary, it was spectacular. I took Jonah for a little stroll around the Alexander Muir Park before adding siblings and parents. Finally grandparents and cousins showed up and we were all good to go. There’s nothing like the park in the fall, and this fall of 2022 seem to be more spectacular than most. We had a great time before wrapping up, now we wait until the ceremony in January. Once again, Jonah‘s parents were clairvoyant to know that this park would not be an acceptable photo location in January, these guys know their stuff. Way to go guys. So fast-forward to January, and we find ourselves at Petah Tikva Synagogue in Toronto for a lovely family rehearsal.  Jonah was […]

Family photos done, we headed into the inner sanctum of York Mills Gallery for the ceremony (got my camera back again… haha). We did a lovely rehearsal session at the Beach Shul on Thursday, if you don’t remember, that was the really foggy day that you couldn’t see your head in front of your face, needless to say, outdoor pictures were hard to be done. We spent most of our time inside with the torah. Fast forward to Saturday evening, I met the family again at a much fog free Beach Shul for some family photographs, a little family fun, and then inside for the havdallah service.
