Abby’s Bat Mitzvah: September 1, 2022 We started the evening, Abby and I, with a little walking about.  Snapping away as the sun dipped down over the horizon.  Adding in some sibs and parents, we walked across the street to get away from the crowds.  When we returned, we were warmly greeted by grandparents and cousins, all ready to go.  Photos done outside, it was time to party… and Abby was amazing come party time.  She got right to the point from the get go, her speech set the tone for the night, and we were off to the races.  Dave Monaco from Magen Boys held court for the evening, and took the party up a notch.  Delightful speeches, delicious food, and just fun times.  Way to go guys, mazel tov.   The Story of Abby’s Bat Mitzvah: Selected Photos HERE All the Photos: HERE

Ella’s Bat Mitzvah: August 8, 2022  This was a special bat mitzvah for me, I got to see some people I have not seen in a long time.  We caught up, and reminisced about the days of yore, and then we were off to the races… a mitzvah to photograph.  We started out at Trinity Bellwoods park, north side, where we could get some great family photos, immediate family, grandparents, and cousins.  We wrapped that up and headed to Union Restaurant in the newly hip Ossington neighbourhood.  Ella was fantastic, she really had fun with the camera, and then had a great time during the ceremony.  She made everyone so proud.  Things wrapped up with a spectacular meal as the sun went down.  Mazel Tov guys, so nice to see you after so many years.   The Story of Ella’s Bat Mitzvah: Selected Photos HERE All the Photos: HERE

Amitai’s Bar Mitzvah: August 28, 2022 Photos by: Carlos Photographing bar mitzvahs at Hart House is always a humbling experience. With its Gothic-revival exteriors and highly ornate ceilings and walls, Hart House gives off an atmosphere of grandeur, calmness and aesthetics that few other places can match. The weather on this fine early autumn morning was the perfect mix of sunny and cool, and Amitai seized it to its fullest. He nailed photo after photo like a pro but the modelling traits must run in the family because just look at those portraits! Everyone looked so radiant and full of love for each other. The ceremony was full of emotional, intimate and touching moments of familial love—everyone was so proud of Amitai, who won everyone over with his wit and charm. But the party was just getting started—the hora was fast-paced and exciting, and dad took it upon himself to show everyone in attendance how proud he was of his boy. Vegetarian cuisine, lots of candies, photo booth and heartfelt speeches topped off the day. What an honour to be the one documenting this event. Mazel tov, everyone!   The Story of Amitai’s Bar Mitzvah: Selected Photos HERE All the […]

Daniel’s Bar Mitzvah Rehearsal: August 22/26, 2022 Photos by: Jonni & Justine This was a two part event, both at the Family Shul.  A rehearsal first with the immediate family, followed a few days later with a photoshoot with the extended family.  Daniel was in great form on both occasions. He came for a walk, looked stylish, and really knew how to look chill in front of the camera.  His sister, also down with the photos. In fact, this whole family had this event locked up.  Both days, Justine and I found some nice spots around the synagogue before heading indoors for some torah photos. Just a fun way to celebrate a special occasion.  Mazel tov, Daniel.   The Story of Daniel Bar Mitzvah: Selected Photos HERE All the Photos: HERE

Noah’s Bar Mitzvah Photoshoot: August 19, 2022 Photos by: Justine So Noah’s photoshoot did not go as planned in as much as the rain was at play.  That being said, fun was the top priority, and it did not falter.  We started out at the family home in the backyard before the rain.  Then it was rain on, rain off, rain on, as I did my best to capture Noah between raindrops.  We finally opted for some drier territory, so we headed off to The Bayt where we met the extended family.  Noah was fun, active, and always up for a joke.  He is very close with all sibs, and it shows.  Mazel tov guys, that was short, wet, but very sweet.   The Story of Noah’s Bar Mitzvah: Selected Photos HERE All the Photos: HERE

Liv’s Bat Mitzvah: April 30, 2022 So this was a bat mitzvah in three parts. We had a fantastic rehearsal at Temple Sinai, this was followed up by a fantastic luncheon after the ceremony a few days later, and then to The Factory for the party.  So, to recap… the rehearsal was flawless, we wandered around outside in the garden and enjoyed the summer sun, taking photos and laughing. We finally went inside for a little taste of the Torah. The luncheon brought fourth a different experience, the jazz trio’s presence was usurped by Liv’s brother on piano, and her cousin and uncle on drums and bass respectively. Quite the musical family, and I know this from personal experience…and then to the party. The factory is a pretty cool place to hold an event, we photographed outside before sunset, portraits of grandparents and cousins and extended family, and then it was inside for the entrance, the hora, various speeches, snacks and dinner and dancing and everything that goes with it. Magan Boys were on hand to hold down party duties and as usual, killed it. Liv, amazing few days hanging with you guys.   The Story of Liv’s Bat Mitzvah: […]
