Zane’s Bar Mitzvah: October 28, 2016 This was a fantastic bar mitzvah, the entire family was ready to roll from the get go with slick shades and cool duds. The party was stylish, low key and easy going and featured possibly the best spread of food I have ever had at a bar mitzvah. Leah’s Bat Mitzvah Lunch: November 13, 2016 I photographed Leah at home the day after her bat mitzvah. She’s a wonderfully sweet kid, the second of the three sisters that I have photographed. The light was fantastic, the family was in a mood to schmooze, and it was such a nice way to spend the morning. Nancy & her Kids: Cedarvale Nov 13, 2016 Nancy and I have traveled to Israel together on the One Family Hike, but I have not met the family… nor have I met the family pets. We all met in Cedarvale Park last week to catch the end of a spectacular fall, and set out to photograph the gang for keepsake… family pets included. There were some extra humans on set to handle the pups, and of course, they got caught up in the action. A beautiful way to spend a Sunday afternoon in November. OneFamily Fund Hike: Israel 2016 The OneFamily Hike this year was spectacular. This is my 5th year as photographer, and it gets better each year. This was our largest group, around 80 hikers. 2016 was delightfully unique as we welcomed ParaTrek, a company which supports and provides hikes for physically disabled hikers. Sasha’s Bar Mitzvah: Oct 23, 2016 Sasha’s bar mitzvah rehearsal and party were awesome. He is one smooth dude; the rehearsal was just Sasha and Zoe at Beth Torah casually running through what was to be a fabulous service on Saturday evening. The party was the perfect combination; intimate in feel and big on spirit. This boy has moves, Sasha and his posse tearing it up. As usual, Magen Boys raised the roof on the occasion, the decor looked stunning thanks to Trevor Florence Designs, and the inimitable Fern Cohen brought the whole affair together seamlessly. From the portrait photoshoot near The Factory to the mitzvah ceremony and finally the celebration, it was a roller-coaster ride of an event. Josh’s Bar Mitzvah: Sept 4, 2016 This was a fantastic rehearsal, ceremony, and party over the weekend. Josh, brothers Jonah and Jeremy, and parents Sharon and Rob were all on hand for the festivities. Josh was amazing, long Saturday service and a shorter Sunday Rosh Chodesh service. All in all, a great job. I photographed the rehearsal on the Thursday when we all got to slow things down for the evening before the busy weekend. And on Sunday, Rabbi Kaplan, I like this guy. He charismatically brings warmth to his congregation at Chabad Flamingo, great to see. The party at e-Zone was nothing but fun. I always like the ‘whirlyball’ to get things.. whirly-ing. Thanks for having us there to photograph, it made my last weekend before the school year.
