Chris & Jordan’s Wedding: June 15, 2024 Oh, where to begin? This wedding was a magnificent symphony of two incredible families uniting. Honest love and warmth filled every corner, and I can’t imagine a single thing they could have done differently. I’ve had the pleasure of photographing these families before, but this… this was something truly special. So, how did the day unfold? We kicked things off at the Four Seasons in the late morning with some “getting ready” photos. Jordan and her crew were having a blast with hair and makeup, while Chris and his gang were probably just chillin’—as the groom often does.  First up, family photos with Chris, the kids, and parents in the lush garden downstairs. This little green oasis amidst the downtown concrete is one of my favourite spots. Chris and the boys were as relaxed as could be. Once we wrapped, I sent them off to the wedding-house and turned my focus to Jordan. She looked… well… stunning doesn’t even come close. Radiant is more like it. The energy and spirit of her family were just fantastic.  So photos of Jordan’s family, kids, siblings, parents, and that takes care of portraits. We all headed […]

Ari & Melanie's Wedding: June 2, 2024An early summer wedding is always destined to be amazing, and this one certainly lived up to that expectation. I met Ari and Melanie at Beth Tzedec on the morning of their big day. The hustle and bustle had already begun. Part one: reveal the bride? Check. Photos with the bride and groom? Check. Pictures with parents and extended family? Check. With these formalities out of the way, we headed to the Bedeken, where the marriage certificate would be signed, sealed, and delivered—no turning back now.  After wrapping up at the Bedeken, we moved into the ceremony. The crowd eagerly awaited the marriage procession, and a beautiful, warm ceremony unfolded before our eyes—truly spectacular. With the vows exchanged and the ceremony complete, everyone was understandably a bit hungry. Delicious hors d'oeuvres were passed around while the newlyweds enjoyed some private time before the wild celebration began. When the married couple made their entrance, the party kicked off with a bang. Jewish weddings are known for their boundless energy and creativity, and this one was no exception. Hoisting the bride and groom up on chairs, umbrellas, skipping ropes—nothing was too extravagant for these guys to […]

Alison & Edgar’s Wedding: August 6, 2023 What a lovely wedding celebrated by two wonderful people, on a beautiful day in early August at Petah Tikvah Synagogue.  Alison & Edgar appear made for each other. From the initial getting dressed, to the signing, and the chuppah, and finally cutting the cake, these two kids here the highlight of the party, as they should be.  The whole day was filled with a warm spirit and giddy excitement. What started out as two people hanging out with their own peeps, ended with everyone on stage singing with the band.  Notwithstanding the 20 minute hora that required breaks to bring down the heat.  Guys, this was a fantastic day, I wish you the best, and it was my pleasure to photograph you both.  Mazel tov.   All the Photos HERE

Aaron & Yasemin’s Wedding: September 18, 2022 I can’t think of a more delightful and wonderful way to spend a Sunday. This wedding of Aaron and Yasemin was so special, brought me to tears… tears of  laughter, that is. We started things off a few weeks ago with an engagement photo shoot in the Alexander Muir park. I love this location for photos, so much variety, colour, and the sunsets at the perfect time. Fast forward a few weeks and I was parking at the Four Seasons Hotel ready for the wedding day. Upstairs I did go, checked in with Yasemin who was having a delightful time with bridesmaids and her people. Some photos there of the hair and make up, and I wandered down the hall to Aaron’s room. All we did was laugh, we did take some photos but there was way more laughing than photos. Hence the tears of laughter.  Back and forth, until everything was ready and it was time for the big reveal. I’ve done many a reveal, this is the first one where I had Aaron chilling out on a chair. Needless to say, Yasemin looked spectacular with a capital S. The happy couple […]

Debra & Ahron’s Wedding: June 26, 2022 Well this was quite the festive affair, the wedding of Debra and Ahron at Shaarei Shomayim, always a great venue for a wedding. The day started out with these two kids getting dressed, deb had her posse and they took over the brides room, while Ahron was relegated to the… smaller change room. But nonetheless, when it was time to go, The bride and groom were looking fantastic and ready for the day. We had a reveal outside the synagogue, which led into some stellar photos in the garden before adding in the parents and siblings in the foyer of the synagogue. Much schmoozing ensued before the groom was called downstairs for the Tische. …and slowly we moved towards the ceremony which was taking place in the sanctuary of Shaarei Shomayim.  Such a great venue for a wedding, the bima is able to be approached from all sides so everyone’s vantage point is good. Service over, Debra and Ahron escaped for a while whilst everyone made their way into the main dining room. And then it was party all night, an extended hora as is customary, and just fun and games for all. […]

Cayla & Mike’s Wedding: June 25, 2022 This wedding took place in a fantastically stylish Brunswick Bierworks in Toronto one summer afternoon.  Everyone was good to go from the start, I took Cayla and Mike for a little walk around to get some bride and groom photos before the rest of the family showed up.  We then started adding in family members who were along for the ride. Pre-ceremony, there was much schmoozing to be done, of course to the backdrop of delicious finger food and drinks. There seemed to be a natural gravitation outside after everyone had filled their cups and satiated their appetites, and we were good to go for the ceremony. Cayla looks stunning walking down the aisle whilst Mike was pretty sharp himself. A beautiful outdoor ceremony followed which gave way to some heartfelt speeches, laughter, and more delicious food. Ryan’s Wedding Proposal to Hailey: July 16, 2022 Well look where I found myself on a warm summer Saturday afternoon in Toronto, at the Four Seasons Hotel, mind you. I have no idea what room, as I was guided there surreptitiously by Ryan’s mom, very cloak and dagger. So, I find myself crouched down behind three feet bright white letters spelling out, “Marry Me” (you’ll see).  My mission, if I choose to accept it, and choose I did, involved me capturing the look on Ryan’s soon-to-be-fiancee, Hailey’s face, as she did stride into the room… so there I was crouched behind three feet bright white letters spelling out, “Marry Me“.  The backstory, as you might be wondering; how did this all come to pass?  In my frequent communications with Ryan regarding this proposal, we were settling on the perfect plan.  The original script called for Centre Island, Ryan and Hailey sipping wine picnic style, gazing into each others eyes. Me, crouched in the bushes with my trusty Canon 5D mk iv with the long Canon 70-200 f2.8, sniper style, waiting for the perfect moment to shoot. Basically waiting for the ring to make it’s appearance. Well, that did not come […]

Limor and Andrew’s Wedding: December 1, 2019 Let’s talk about a powerhouse couple, Limor and Andrew may just be that couple. She looked, how shall we say, stunning, Andrew looked… manly. Together, they took this party by storm. We got a few getting dressed pictures of Limor before signing the marriage certificate and heading off to the ceremony. The ceremony was quite special, we were all gathered in the Eglinton West Gallery #2, as Rabbi Eva Goldfinger presided over this beautiful couple. This was a warm and wonderful wedding, celebrated by close friends and family. Once the ceremony was done, all hora broke loose. Up on chairs, dancing in circles, the usual proclivity of the betrothed; young, and carefree.  This is a great venue for a wedding, same guys as the  York Mills Gallery but stepped it up a notch. Beautiful wooden veneer, indoor brick, barn doors, you really can’t go wrong. The food was exquisite, speeches were well executed and heartfelt, families were left laughing with joy and crying with nachas (say that five times in a row). The DJ was fantastic, and kept this party rockin’ well into the night. Mazel Tov, Guys!! have a great holiday, This […]

Lisa & Jason’s Wedding: September 22, 2019 Photos by: Jonni Super & Justine Apple Well this was one fancy affair, what started out on Friday night as a wonderful photoshoot in the park followed by a delicious dinner, ended on Sunday night with the marriage of Lisa and Jason. Sunday started with family portraits followed by the Bedeken officiated by the affable Rabbi Avraham Plotkin. Post Bedeken, everyone gathered in the enormous ballroom of the Windsor Arms Hotel for the ceremony. Once again, Rabbi Plotkin was all over this one, and a truly beautiful ceremony ensued. Once the ceremony was over, Lisa, Jason and I headed to the roof while everyone schmoozed during the cocktail hour. Then of course, the party began. The hora was followed by and an amazing show tune by Lisa’s sister, heartfelt speeches, delicious food and dancing well into the night. Shari & Camilla’s Wedding: September 29, 2018 Photographed mostly by Ben & Gwen This wedding was one my family had been waiting for, our good friends Shari and Camilla were getting married.  As I was a guest, I was only able to photograph the parts of the day I was not involved in like dressing the brides and portraits, but I did pick up the camera during the party when I could.  What a fabulous day, Ben and I photographed Camilla and Shari getting dressed before meeting up for a special reveal at the Scenic Sounds cottage overlooking the Beaver Valley.  We could not have asked for better weather, the sun was shining, nary a cloud in the sky, and off to the Beaver Valley Ski Club we did go.  The flow of the day was skillfully facilitated by Brittney Furtado and her team at Inspire Event Rental who did an outstanding job at creating a gorgeous zen space with a beautiful array of flowers.  The formalities were a blend of wedding traditions drawn from Buddhist and Jewish faiths, led by Buddhist Chaplains Andrew and Angie Blake of Sarana Institute. Marla & Michael’s Wedding: August 5, 2018 Marla and Michael’s wedding was one splendid affair, taking place on quite a warm summer day at the Congregation B’nai Torah in Toronto. The stage was set, everyone was ready. I first met Marla to take some beautiful bridal portraits outside, followed by everybody inside. Michael followed suite with his family and then on to the Tish and Kabalat Panim we went. This is always a very special ceremony in a Jewish wedding, when your friends and family get to wish the new couple mazal tov before the Ceremony, when the groom gets to vail the bride.  This elegant shul makes for a great wedding backdrop, the bimah is central so it can be seen from all sides. Everything went smoothly, rings were exchanged, and off to a delicious lunch we did go.  As with Jewish functions, there is no end to the festivities and shenanigans. Tracey & Bruce’s Wedding, March 18, 2018 These two love birds seem to be the ideal match made in heaven. What started off as a pretty normal wedding day for myself and Ben, photographing the bride and groom independently, ended up as a spectacular wedding amongst my fellow South Africans who were as inviting and inclusive as ever.  This was a group of people who were so warm, authentic, caring, and passionate as I ever could have imagined.  This wedding was definitely one of a kind for many reasons, some of which I will list here, and others, you would’ve had to have been there. We started off the day at the Westin Prince Hotel in Toronto, Bruce getting dressed in his room with the boys and Tracey dressing down the hall with the girls. As per usual, the girls drinking champagne whilst doing hair and make-up while the boys might as well have been smoking cigars and drinking whiskey, or in this case, eating biltong. We all headed down to a ‘reveal‘ in the foyer which was basically a crying love-fest but well worth it. From there, we were off to the York Mills Gallery II for group photos and an “don’t worry, all in […]

Jaclyn & Eric’s Henna & Wedding: March 4 & 15, 2018 These were two spectacular days behind the camera, not including the engagement party. The henna party was first and the wedding a week later.  Jaclyn looked stunning at both events, a bride to behold.  There is always a lot of spirit in the Sephardic Jewish community, and this was no exception. Right from the onset, Ben and I knew these were going to be two special nights.  Both events blended together seamlessly under the expert direction of Judy Steiner.  The new Forest Hill Jewish Centre on Spadina is an ideal space to hold a party, and the Sephardic Kehila Centre on Bathurst is perfect for a wedding.  Both venues were dressed for success; the decor was stunning, the atmosphere was upbeat, the food was simply delicious, and everyone was there to sing praises to a wonderful couple.  If you’ve never been to a Sephardic wedding before, you are in for a treat.  There are many practices, traditions, and of course, clothing changes.  Time-honoured jewish custom is the order of the day, from the Tish, to the Kabbalat Panim, and finally under the Chuppah.  The ceremony was jubilant which was then kicked up a notch when the horah got underway. A Sephardic Horah is like no other, and […]

This year, I had the honour of photographing over 60 events.  Thank you to all of the wonderful clients who made my job so much fun! In addition to the new clients that I’ve had the honour to photograph this year, it is been such a treat to see past families return with younger siblings who are at mitzvah age. I promise to never take for granted the privilege of documenting the special times in these families lives.
