Ozzie’s Bar Mitzvah: September 5, 2026 (Thornhill Club)
This was a totally fun and very close-to-home Mitzvah. Ozzie is a family friend, so I was basically the friend-photographer-in-residence for the day. My kids were there, my wife was there, along with the rest of the extended family and friends. Just a great time. I started with some photos of Ozzie and Violet at home before we all took off to The Thornhill Club. It’s a beautiful golf club tucked right into the middle of the city, and I’ve photographed there many times. It never disappoints. We did more family photos out on the grounds before the extended family arrived for their chance in the limelight. Photos done, we headed inside where my good friend, Rabbi Yossi Sapirman, was holding court. Delightful and engaging is pretty much the order of the day with Yossi, and this ceremony was no exception. Ozzie was great. In typical Ozzie form, he managed to survive the ceremony, the Torah reading, speeches and candle lighting, all in good spirits and with a smile on his face. There was laughter, a few tears and pretty much everything in between. Then it was time to schmooze, hang out, hit the photo booth and just enjoy being together with a truly wonderful family. Mazel tov, guys. Way to go.
